Privacy Policy – Perplexity Chat Queue

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the Perplexity Chat Queue Chrome extension ("the Extension", "we", "our") handles user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

    Summary: This extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data is stored locally on your device and never leaves your browser.
  

2. Data Collection

The Extension does not collect any of the following:

Personally identifiable information (PII)
Browsing history or web activity
Authentication credentials or tokens
Financial or payment information
Health information
Communication content
Location data
Any other personal or sensitive user data

3. Data Stored Locally

The Extension stores the following data locally on your device only using the Chrome chrome.storage.local API:

Saved Presets	To let you save, organize, and reload prompt queues	Local only (`chrome.storage.local`)
Queue Messages	Prompt messages you enter in the queue during a session	In-memory (cleared on page reload)

    Important: None of this data is ever transmitted to any external server, third-party service, or analytics platform. It remains entirely on your local machine.
  

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. Specifically:

No data is sent to our servers (we do not operate any servers)
No data is shared with advertisers or marketing platforms
No data is shared with analytics or tracking services
No data is shared with any other third party for any reason

5. Permissions Used

The Extension requests the following browser permissions. Each is used solely for the stated purpose:

Permission	Why It's Needed
`activeTab`	To interact with the Perplexity AI page and inject prompts into the chat input field
`storage`	To save your prompt presets locally on your device
`notifications`	To display a desktop notification when queue processing is complete
`host_permissions` for `perplexity.ai`	To run the content script on the Perplexity AI website only

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally:

Presets are retained until you manually delete them within the Extension or uninstall the Extension.
Queue messages and settings are stored in memory only and are automatically cleared when you close or refresh the Perplexity AI tab.
Uninstalling the Extension will permanently remove all locally stored data including saved presets.

You can delete individual presets or entire folders at any time from within the Extension's Presets panel. You can also export your presets as a JSON file before deletion if you wish to keep a backup.

7. Security

We implement the following measures to protect your data:

All data stays on your local machine — no network transmission occurs
The Extension only operates on perplexity.ai domains
The Extension does not inject scripts on any other website
The Extension's source code is open source and publicly auditable on GitHub

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the Extension does not collect any personal data from any user, no special provisions for children are necessary.

9. Third-Party Services

The Extension interacts with Perplexity AI (perplexity.ai) by automating the submission of prompts that you provide. The Extension does not access, read, or store any responses from Perplexity AI. Your interaction with Perplexity AI is governed by Perplexity AI's own Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
